Throwback Thursday #22

This is one of my all time favorite pictures. It is from 1982 (I believe). We had a giant window in our living room looking over the backyard. I just love it for some reason.

Side note: My parents bought this red brick house from our friends the Lees. The Lees were moving to Santaquin, where they would become friends with Shane's family. Who knew that later in life they would be on both our invite lists for our wedding. Small world.

Throwback Thursday #21

Wow! I have become a blog slacker lately. Luckily I can do this Throwback until I get time to upload more pics. This throwback I thought I might just show my cute little brother. He is getting so big and he is so great with Max and London. This is not the best picture. It is a random roll of film that I just found (from a crappy camera) and developed it. This was taken in early 2002, so this film has been sitting around for a long time. He wasn't quite 2 yet. Amazing how fast they grow! It's also funny when we get his hand-me-downs and Max will see his old pictures and say, Uncle J is wearing my shirt! Very cute!

Throwback Thursday #20

Today I am officially in my thirties! I am not 30, I am 31. For the Throwback I had to do a tribute to my birthday. This picture was taken in 1978 when I was about 2.5 months old. I am younger than London in this photo so we don't look a lot alike, but I wanted to compare. Our eyes are definitely not the same, but I think our noses are and our mouths. Max has my ears, but London doesn't. It will be fun to see how she looks as she ages.

Throwback Thursday #19

This picture has to be 1979 or 1980. My cousin first posted this on Facebook with the tag line, "Does someone have a mullet?" Excuse me, but I am the height of fashion! Mullets and '80s go together like peanut butter and jelly! Seriously though, it is a little mulletish. I had to post this warm looking photo while I am freezing in my basement after the big storm we just had.

Throwback Thursday #18

I thought it would be funny to pay tribute to the bang since I have a new hairstyle. Here is a sampling of my bangs through the years. I may use some of these picture in the future for other Throwbacks, so don't be surprised to see them more than once. They are used here solely for the purpose of demonstrating the bang.

This is 1981. I call this the boy bangs with pigtails. You know, just letting the hair grow out until it is long enough to do something with it. (I'm on the right)

I don't really know what is up with my hair here. I know I have one little curled bang. I can only guess the other bangs are braided on the side of my head.

I actually love this picture. I also love the classic pie cut bangs. Starting our bangs at the back of our heads...classic!

This is another form of the pie cut I like to call the lion's mane. It is the pie cut and then the bangs curled a lot and fluffed. These bangs might still be seen in small towns in Utah.

This is from 1986. Again the bangs are starting clear back and this time I have opted for some curling.

Please ignore the face I am pulling. Apparently the stilts were hard to work with! These are a slightly smaller bang that is curled under with the smallest curling iron I could find. =)

I believe this is 6th grade. That would make it 1990. These are the bangs placed more appropriately to the front of my head. They are extemely short and then curled. Also, side comment, what is up with the cowboy boot pin?

This picture is from 1996. Senior/Junior pictures (I graduated a year early). My bangs were really long and so I would take a really big curling iron and curl them under.

This is the no bang. After high school I moved into not having bangs. This picture is well after high school in 2004.


This is 2007 when I brought back my bangs with the sweep to the side kind of bangs.

This picture I took the other day. It is my new hairdo. The bangs are much shorter, but still sweep to the side. They are actually cut to also be able to be across the front, but it reminds me too much of the '80s. So this is where I'm at. (This picture was taken at the end of the day, so it isn't at it's best, but it is growing on me).

Throwback Thursday #17

This picture was taken in 2001 (I don't know why the picture says 1994). This is from a trip my sister, Julie, and I took to Nauvoo. We decided to just take a road trip together. We stopped to visit some friends in Kearney, Nebraska. While we were there we stopped at the local Salvation Army and picked up some great clothes. We just had to model them when we got back. This is Becky, Julie and Me. I need to find one with Greg, he looked so funny. Very pimpish. It was great fun.

Throwback Thursday #16

This picture is one of my favorites. Who let me dress myself? I hope that is a swimsuit and not what I normally wore around town! What I love about this picture? I love the Scooby Doo is playing in the background, I love the old TV set, and I love the wood paneling from the house I grew up in (I love the memories from that house).

Throwback Thursday #14

For this Throwback I had to include 2 pictures and tell the story. This is from 2006. For those of you who love BYU like my family you will remember the famous pass from John Beck to Jonny Harline that won the BYU vs Utah game. This happened the same night. Unfortunately my photos don't do the event justice. After the game we headed up Provo canyon to go to Park City for a quick shopping trip. We were headed around a bend and Anna (my sister) screamed. Because of the turn she could see everything first. We all looked up and saw the ending of what she saw. A tanker coming down the canyon went across the road to our side and turned on its side and then slid on the road, blocking our side. There was crazy dust everywhere, which you can't see. Anna and Shane jumped from the car and ran to the scene, not even thinking this tanker could hold gasoline! So brave! The rest of us stayed in the car because it was dangerous and Max was sleeping. I took this picture of us waiting in the car. We were the first on the scene. Luckily the tanker had been carrying milk and he was empty. They helped the guy and when the police arrived the filled out a statement. They completely closed the canyon and we had to head back out of the canyon and go the SLC route. Crazy event! Basically that whole night (between this and the BYU game) is forever going to be remembered.

Throwback Thursday #13

School started today (actually yesterday for Aidan). I can't believe how time has just flown by. I thought it would be fun to compare some old school pictures. These pictures are of Andrew and Aidan when they were each in 1st grade! Look how little! Now Andrew is almost 11 and is starting 5th grade and Aidan is 12 and starting 7th grade. Amazing! (Andrew's picture is from 2005. Aidan's picture is from 2003.)

Throwback Thursday #12

Today I had to dedicate my Throwback to Max. 4 years ago today he was born. This is a picture of him when he was a couple days old and had to have a bili light. He was so tiny! He was 3lbs. 9oz. when he was born, but in this picture he is less because he lost a little in the hospital, like most babies. I love this because he is holding my finger. It is so sweet! I love my little guy so much!

Throwback Thursday #11

I thought it might be fun to do a throwback for Shane. This is a picture of him and his siblings at a wedding reception. I am not quite sure of the year, but I know that I calculated years weird and my sister-in-law and Shane helped out. We believe it would be about 1995 or 1996. On the back row is Shane, Jason, Troy, Amber, Kelly. On the front row is Tyler and Spencer.

When we were younger my sister Anna and I were best friends. We loved to spend time together. I am sure we also both loved to be in charge of our younger siblings. Here is a cute picture of Anna, myself and our brother Dan a little after he was born. This is 1981.

Throwback Thursday #9

Seven years ago we left for a family reunion with Shane's family in Sequim, Washington. It was while we were engaged and I was able to meet some of his extended family. Each family put together a little skit. We did a little indian theme. Here are Andrew, Shane and Aidan ready for the skit. So cute. 2002.

Throwback Thursday #8

This Throwback (I know, 2 in one day, but I have to make up for last week) is dedicated to my cute little sister Sarah. She was a little surprise to my family and I was almost 15 almost 16 when she was born. She will be that same age (15) tomorrow. Where has the time gone!? This picture was taken at my wedding reception in 2002. She is dancing with Shane's youngest brother. She had just turned 8 and had been baptized one month earlier. I am so proud of the young woman that Sarah is and is becoming. She is a great example and tries so hard to be good. She is great with my kids and her little brother and is just an all around joy to be around. I love you Sarah.

Throwback Thursday #7

I missed last week's Throwback, so I need to get on the ball. We have been very busy around here.

Every year we go to my Dad's family reunion. It has been going since I can remember. We have a great time and we just went last week. Here is a picture from a past reunion. This is 2005. I am pregnant with Max. I had him 1 month after this picture was taken.

Throwback Thursday #6

This is my tribute to the 4th. This was 1997 and I don't know what I was thinking with my hair! Anyway, I think my sister Carrie was there and was taking the picture. Anna was supposed to go, but unfortunately for her and me, earlier that day she had wrecked my new car and was just not in the mood. The car was totaled, but I had gotten a great deal, so it was paid off and I had money for a down payment on my next car. We went to Stadium of Fire and Natalie Cole was the main act. You can see me in the center in red (I am not the older man in the red shirt) =). To my right is Mitch Lee and Lori Busath. To my left is Chantell Houston and Natalie Winters. Everyone is now married and have new last names...we are so old! Just kidding girls! I love them all!

Throwback Thursday #5

Back in the day when I was in the singles' ward we had parties all the time. This is from a murder party at our house (minus a few people). My camera at the time totally stunk! This is also not 1994. It is more like 2000 or 2001.

As Independence Day is fast approaching I thought I would put in a picture of me and my sister looking festive....'70's style. This is 1979. Love the dresses! Look how bald I am. And I do think that London looks a little like me in this photo.

Throwback Thursday #3

Today I am dedicating this post to my husband and his awesome shorts! Seriously, take a look at those shorts. I will have to try to figure out what year this is from. I hope those are really swimming trunks or something. They are so short and the colors...awesome! What a stud! This one cracked me up so I had to share.
