Throwback Thursday #10

When we were younger my sister Anna and I were best friends. We loved to spend time together. I am sure we also both loved to be in charge of our younger siblings. Here is a cute picture of Anna, myself and our brother Dan a little after he was born. This is 1981.

2 Sleeping Babies

My Mom sent me this picture the other day. So sweet! It is London asleep with Cody, the puppy, curled up beside her. The subject of her email was "2 Sleeping Babies." Now, I know she looks like she is dressed warm...let me explain. The shirt is actually light weight. The hat is because she has a birth mark on her head called a hemangioma. It is a raised birth mark that is basically a cluster of blood vessels. If it bleeds, big trouble. It will gradually flatten and completely disappear by the time she is 10 or sooner. Anyway, the puppy likes to try to play with it, so to avoid blood, she will be wearing a hat while at my Mom's house.

Pioneer Day Parade

This morning we had a ward breakfast and Primary Pioneer Day Parade. It was a lot of fun! We decorated Max's bike for the parade, but last night when he saw Uncle J he decided he needed to ride in the handcart that Uncle J would be pulling. We didn't want him to go unoticed, so he surprised everyone with a confetti/streamer gun. He shot it off when no one was suspecting. It was great fun. The parade turned around and came back, so both sides got streamers. I have short videos below.

Throwback Thursday #9

Seven years ago we left for a family reunion with Shane's family in Sequim, Washington. It was while we were engaged and I was able to meet some of his extended family. Each family put together a little skit. We did a little indian theme. Here are Andrew, Shane and Aidan ready for the skit. So cute. 2002.

Fishing for Fun

Shane has been able to take some time off work this summer to spend time with the kids. It has been great. Since I don't work much, our days with him home have been awesome! This last Friday we went swimming and then fishing. It was a beautiful day. Max almost caught one, but it got away. He can't wait to go again.

I had Max dressed, but he thinks he needs to dress himself and chose his clothes because he said these are fishing clothes.

I Love to See the Temple

Thursday night we went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House. It is very tall and thin. We had a good time and enjoyed the peacefulness of it all. From the front of the temple you can look out and see the Draper Temple and the Jordan River Temple. You can also see downtown SLC, so if a few of the buildings were cut shorter, you would see the SLC temple. Pretty cool!

M Family Reunion 2009

A couple weeks ago we headed up to my Dad's family reunion. We do it every year and each child in the family takes a turn. Next year is my Dad's turn. This year they did an underwater theme. It is quite the group. Just to give you an idea: My Dad's family consists of 11 children. There are 79 grandchildren and 150 great-grandchildren. There are also in-laws from the grandchildren, etc. giving my grandparents a total of 308 descendants. My sweet Grandma is 94 and you can see her here in our 4 generation shot (I also have one with Max when he is about London's age). Here are some pictures from the reunion.

My Aunt made these for the kids to take pictures. So cute. And isn't the Ursula one perfect!

Grandma P.'s B-day

I have been a blog slacker lately. I have tons to post and I just haven't had time. So, I will try to get some of them up and see where that leaves me. At the beginning of the month my Grandma had a birthday! We all went to lunch and helped her celebrate. She had a great time with everyone, as did we.

Throwback Thursday #8

This Throwback (I know, 2 in one day, but I have to make up for last week) is dedicated to my cute little sister Sarah. She was a little surprise to my family and I was almost 15 almost 16 when she was born. She will be that same age (15) tomorrow. Where has the time gone!? This picture was taken at my wedding reception in 2002. She is dancing with Shane's youngest brother. She had just turned 8 and had been baptized one month earlier. I am so proud of the young woman that Sarah is and is becoming. She is a great example and tries so hard to be good. She is great with my kids and her little brother and is just an all around joy to be around. I love you Sarah.

Throwback Thursday #7

I missed last week's Throwback, so I need to get on the ball. We have been very busy around here.

Every year we go to my Dad's family reunion. It has been going since I can remember. We have a great time and we just went last week. Here is a picture from a past reunion. This is 2005. I am pregnant with Max. I had him 1 month after this picture was taken.

London Doesn't Want Tickled

London does this with Shane. I tried to do it, but no dice. She will only do it for Shane. She must really not want him to tickle her! So cute!

4th of July 2009

For our 4th of July we went to the Provo Parade. It was nice this year because it wasn't blazing hot! All the kids looked so cute in the 4th of July outfits! After the parade we went home to chill for a little bit and then headed to Aunt Carrie and Uncle Nate's clubhouse for a BBQ and swim party. I was a dork and didn't get a lot of pictures, but it was a lot of fun. After the BBQ we decided the kids had had a crazy week and we should probably stay home, so we headed home and waited until dark and did fireworks. It was great! Each kid, with the help of Dad, was able to light a parachute.

A Week of Firsts

London Eats Food London has been intently watching us eat. She even whines when we are eating, so we finally gave in. We gave her a go at rice cereal and she was in heaven. She would cry between each spoonful because we just couldn't get it to her fast enough. I can't believe how big she is getting!














London Rolls Over
On the 4th of July London rolled over for the first time! I was so glad I was there and she was so proud because I was clapping at her.

Max Gives a Talk
Max gave his first talk in Primary on Sunday. He talked on Family Home Evening. He shared what we do in our family for FHE and at the end he said, "And then we have treats!" He said that part really loud and all the leaders loved it. He did a great job!

Smores on the Barbie
We have done smores in our fire pits in the past, but now we don't have a fire pit, so we took the grates off the BBQ and did smores on the BBQ. It was fun and they tasted great. It was a fun family thing to do.

Garden
I forgot to update everyone on my garden. Well, it was in a spot in the yard we thought would work, but it just wasn't getting enough sun. So, we had to move it, which caused things to shift a little and we got crazy amounts of rain and a few kids trampled through it. Somehow, we still ended up with some Swiss Chard and Lettuce. Yippee! Both have tasted super yummy and we feel so proud. Max is especially proud because he would help water it and he helped plant everything. We are excited to do our fall planting and go for it again next year with more stuff and in a better spot.

I need to do better and documenting everything. I swear I need a camera attached to my hip.

Throwback Thursday #6

This is my tribute to the 4th. This was 1997 and I don't know what I was thinking with my hair! Anyway, I think my sister Carrie was there and was taking the picture. Anna was supposed to go, but unfortunately for her and me, earlier that day she had wrecked my new car and was just not in the mood. The car was totaled, but I had gotten a great deal, so it was paid off and I had money for a down payment on my next car. We went to Stadium of Fire and Natalie Cole was the main act. You can see me in the center in red (I am not the older man in the red shirt) =). To my right is Mitch Lee and Lori Busath. To my left is Chantell Houston and Natalie Winters. Everyone is now married and have new last names...we are so old! Just kidding girls! I love them all!
