Day 5 was our major tourist day. We decided to go to the Birkenstock factory by way of a town where my former Exchange student lived. We couldn't get all the information for where to go for her work, so we didn't get to see her. I was so sad! We also went where the car told us to and we were in the wrong place. So, some nice people told us what town it was really in and so we drove a new way. We went through this forest area. The road was narrow and there were just tall trees everywhere! It was so beautiful! After the little forest, we went through tons of little towns and the roads were just awesome so we took lots of road pictures and house pictures. After the Birkenstock store, we entered our next address, a castle, and the road was just going to take so long, so we took a ferry across the river and then drove the rest of the way.

| To get to Burg Eltz, The castle Eltz, we could either hike up or take a tram. We opted to hike because it was just so beautiful! It was well worth it! |

After the castle we drove to a town called Trier. It is on the border of Luxembourg and France. So all the people speak German, but with a French accent. It was a cool town. It was like going to old Rome. We saw some cool old buildings and some old Roman baths they have uncovered. And they had a fundraiser going on with a bunch of painted elephants.

After Trier we went to Dusseldorf to stay the night there. We were very hungry so we stopped over at a local pub for some dinner. It was probably some of the best food I have ever eaten!
