Another Day at the Farm

Last week Max, London and I went to Thanksgiving Point to the Farm. We had a great little time and luckily I remembered my camera. Max LOVED the farm. London saw a horse for about 30 seconds and decided it felt really good outside and she wanted to sleep the whole time. It has been a long time since we have been there.

The boys were making up illusions with Uncle J. After they were all created they decided to video tape them with our little camera. When Uncle J had to leave they decided that it was time to get a even more creative. These are pretty hilarious. There are 2 posts, so check them out. WARNING: They use a strobe light an awful lot!

The Language of Max

So Max talks really well and can say pretty much anything. We have been impressed when we read scriptures and we tell him what to say, just how many big words he can say. There are a few words, however, that he has taken and put his own spin on them. It's funny because he uses these words when he is just talking to you, but if you ask him to say the word and you say it first he says it right! I just want to remember the cute words he says so I hurried and recorded him. Here are the words he says:

Computer: Reputer
Disappear: Disreppear
Goblin: Globin

Be Still My Soul

So a couple Saturdays ago, Shane suddenly told me he had to go to a practice. I asked him what it was for. He surprised me by saying he would be singing a duet in Sacrament Meeting the next day. What!!??!! Shane has only sang in public one other time with me. Because of this he lacks confidence in his singing ability and is always telling me no when I ask him to sing with me. So, I borrowed a recorder and decided I needed proof that this happened. Unfortunately, I couldn't trust Shane to hit the record button on the stand, so the sound quality isn't good because I did it from my seat.

The first part of the first verse is Shane. At the end for a little the other guy from our ward joins him. The second verse is the other guy until the end when Shane joins him. Then, on the 3rd verse they do parts and Shane is the melody.

Our First Date

7 years ago today I received the following email:

"How are YA? Hey, I know this might seem kind of a weird way to ask you out, but I am asking you out. LOL In case you didn't know, ___ and I recently got divorced. I have promised myself that I am not going to sit around feeling sorry for myself, I am going to have fun. I thought it would be fun to get together. If you want to, that would be great. Let me know if that would be something you would consider, this Thursday will be the only day this week I can do it. Please don't feel like you have to say yes, I thought it would be fun."

Well, when I got it I could tell he wasn't sure I would say yes, even though he had just gotten off the phone with my Dad who had recommended asking me out (which I didn't know at the time). I was shocked to get it. I hadn't really even talked to Shane when we worked together. In fact, in the email he listed his ex-wife's name and at that time I didn't even know that was her name. Well, I did say yes, and on May 2 we had our first date! Let me tell you what happened between my receiving this email (on Monday) and our first date (Thursday).

I responded to his email and asked for a little more information like time, etc. I didn't want to wear sandals if we were going bowling if you know what I mean. Shane took it a little different and thought I didn't really want to go. Well, I did. For some reason I then got really nervous. Not like prior dates, it was different. For some reason I just felt like this date was going to be more meaningful and I suddenly had the thought come to my mind, you marry who you date. At that point I thought about the fact that he had kids and had been married. I had to really decide if I could go on a date with him or not because you marry who you date.

I had already planned to go to the temple on Tuesday night with my sister and cousin, so we went and I really contemplated this date. I really had a strong feeling that everything would be ok and I felt completely fine with the fact that he had kids. I decided the date would be fine.

Also in the meantime I learned that the option for a date with Shane had been presented by his brother (who I worked with) to my cousin (who we worked with). I suddenly got nervous again thinking that perhaps when Shane emailed me he was thinking I was my cousin Sharee. As I said, I didn't really know Shane very well and Sharee was the receptionist so I was sure he knew who she was. Maybe he had gotten our names confused. I didn't know my Dad had recommended he take me on a date. So, when Thursday came I had Anna answer the door because I didn't want to answer the door and have him as me if Suzy was there! Shane swears he knew it was me and now I believe him.

We went to Los Hermanos and Bowling with his brother and his wife. We had a great time and two months later we were engaged, a little over 4 months later we were married!

Finally Spring

It has finally been warm enought to have Max run through the sprinklers. He would do this everyday, all day if he could. He was lucky enough to be able to do it with his friend the other day. (Max is such a cheese ball!)

Guess Who's 36!

Happy birthday to my wonderful husband. He is always trying so hard to do what is best for our family. He is so loving and extremely loyal. He is a great Dad and does so much for our family. I love you honey!

Spring Break 09 - Day 2

For our second day of Spring Break we decided to go to The Living Planet Aquarium. It has been awhile since we went there last and had heard they have added more stuff. Before it took like a half hour to go through. This time we were there for two hours and didn't watch any of the movies or anything, so it has greatly improved. We had a great time.

Funny side note: Yesterday when we went to the art museum we saw a few of my cousins and their kids. They had also brought the daughters of another one of my cousins. We happened to get there at just about the same time. Well today we pulled into the aquarium parking lot and got in line and who was just a few people ahead of us...my cousins. This time it was the missing parents from yesterday, their daughters and the daughter of one of my cousins from the museum. We were joking about who was following who. While standing in line Shane and I were talking about what we should do tomorrow. The option of the $1 movies was brought up. We aren't sure yet. Later in line I was talking to my cousin's wife and asked what their plans for tomorrow are. She said, "Well we were thinking of catching a $1 movie." LOL. So funny. Apparently great minds think alike.

I think I personally blinded the octopus. It wasn't until AFTER I used my flash that the screen changed to the screen stating not to use a flash! Shouldn't that sign be up ALL the time?

Spring Break 09 - Day 1

The older boys got to spend Monday and Tuesday of Spring Break with their Mom, so we officially kicked things off today. Shane has today and the rest of the week off work so they are getting some great Dad time.

Today they hung out and made yummy cookies. When I got home we headed to BYU for the Walter Wick exhibit. It was super cool!

We had a lot of fun trying to find the hidden things and looking at the optical illusions. We also went to the other exibit that was art made out of trash. This exhibit was small, but super cool! We recommend it to everyone.

After the exhibit (which I forgot my camera in the car for) we went to the Bean Museum to let the boys check out the animals. It was a fun day except for the winter weather that made it feel more like Winter break than Spring break!

I remembered my camera for the 2nd museum so here are a couple pictures. For mine, excuse the hair...wet snow doesn't go well with hair!

I Love the Kiddopotamus

London wouldn't sleep unless I was holding her at nights. This just wasn't working. I wasn't sleeping and my back was killing me. So, we had to find a solution. Enter the Kiddopotamus Swaddleme. Whenever I would swaddle her in a blanket she would work her way out of it. It was a great temporary solution for our sleeping problem, but it never worked. When I saw these at the store we had to try them! It is AMAZING! It is like she just knows it is time for bed. I can now put her in her bed at her bedtime and she will just lay there, even awake, until she falls asleep. It has saved my sanity. I get so much more sleep as does she and she can sleep on her back. They come in multiple colors and a few different sizes. Green just happened to be the only one in the size we needed. When she moves up in size I might try for a pink or purple so it is a little more girly.

Motivation

OK, so I was looking at some old pictures today and came upon this little beauty. It is almost 5 years ago exactly. Look at how SKINNY I am! Boy have I put on weight. With each pregnancy, whether it lasts or not, I have gained weight. It must be the hormones. Needless to say (as you can see from recent photos) I have a lot of work to do now that my recovery is over. I usually don't lose a lot of weight while I am nursing and then drop some. I am hoping to help the process a little more by doing a better job with exercising and sticking to a routine. This picture (and many others) are my motivation to get off my butt and get back to exercising. I want to have my beautiful kids and my skinny body!

So Sour

Max tried a War Head. He knew it would be sour, so some of the sour faces are fake, but when it really hit him it was so funny!
