Chubby

So we were at the UV Thunder game last night and Max began to play with my lovely arm fat and say plop plop every time. I looked at him and asked what he was doing. He said, "London was in your tummy and now she is out and you have this." Lovely, even my son notices that my relief society arms are worse right now! Anyway, I said, "Max, am I skinny or chubby?" He said, "You are skinny. You are skinny here (pointing to my face) and here, (pointing to my body) but this is chubby (again with my arms)." Well, at least he's honest. And, it was pretty funny!

Throwback Thursday #5

Back in the day when I was in the singles' ward we had parties all the time. This is from a murder party at our house (minus a few people). My camera at the time totally stunk! This is also not 1994. It is more like 2000 or 2001.

As Independence Day is fast approaching I thought I would put in a picture of me and my sister looking festive....'70's style. This is 1979. Love the dresses! Look how bald I am. And I do think that London looks a little like me in this photo.

Super Hero Party

Ever since attending his friend's Spiderman birthday party, Max has been determined to have a super hero party. He just wouldn't let it go today, so Max, London and myself had a little super hero party. We had green kool-aid for Hulk and everything else was red because that is the color for Superman, Spiderman and Iron Man. We had red cake and red candy. After we blew out the candles on the cake (he had to have candles) we watched a super hero movie. It was actually quite enjoyable.

It's a Boy?

OK, so my Mom's little puppies that I posted about here were thought to be 2 girls and a boy. Well, last night my Mom discovered that two of the puppies might have just been a little gun shy. All 3 are boys. I guess Lola and Mitzi won't work for names. Back to the drawing board! =)

Max Swimming Lessons

Max started his swimming lessons on Tuesday. We had to go with private lessons this year to work around my work schedule. He loves his teacher. She was Aidan and Andrew's teacher a couple years ago and she is great! He has these super cute goggles he wears for part of the lesson. I will have to get a picture of them later. He is such a fish!

No Cavity Club

Well, over 6 months ago I went to the dentist. They couldn't do much since I was pregnant, so I was nervous for this trip to the dentist. I am happy to report I have no cavities! You know how they say you lose a tooth to a cavity for every pregnancy, well I must have gotten them all with Max. Yeah for London...no cavities!

Last year you might remember that Max had his first dentist appointment. We had to see 2 dentists and learned he had 4 cavities! He was knocked out and all were repaired at the same time. This time around I was nervous that we would have another issue. Guess what!?! No cavities!!! He was sooooo good for our new dentist (had to find a dentist on our insurance who would take kids because last time to work on him we had to go pediatric dentist and we only got a discount and had to pay for everything). Anyway, he did everything they asked. He let them take X-rays, clean his teeth, give him the fluoride, everything! They were so impressed they said he could come back every day in place of any of their other 3-year old patients! (Too funny!) They also gave him the usual prize from the drawer, toothbrush and toothpaste. Then they surprised us by giving him the Great Patient Award which gives him a free kid's meal at Del Taco. Not too shabby. He was SOOOO proud. He came home and showed Dad and his brothers his loot and his certificate.

Mommies

On Monday, the 9th, my Mom's little dog had 3 little puppies. She was doing great and all the puppies were happy. My Mom saw her and then ran a quick errand. When she got home they found that the new Mommy had died. They think it might have been her heart. So sad. The little puppies, however, still need to be taken care of. So, everyone in the family has now become a little Mommy. Uncle J's bedroom is super warm to keep their body temperature up and different people have been taking shifts to feed the little babies. Of course my Mom is doing most of the work, but we're happy to help when we can.

Before and after each feeding we have to weigh the babies. We use my Mom's little Weight Watchers scale. Because they squirm so much we put them in the little cup thing.

After they ate we were warming their blankets while Lola finished eating. To keep the other two warm I just put them in my shirt so they could have some body heat. They squirmed around and found just where they wanted to be. If you look close you can see I have a bulging shoulder (Mitzi) and something inbetween my "ladies" which would be Cody (isn't that just like a man). =) I had to hold my hand on my stomach so that he wouldn't fall down. They fell right to sleep.

Throwback Thursday #3

Today I am dedicating this post to my husband and his awesome shorts! Seriously, take a look at those shorts. I will have to try to figure out what year this is from. I hope those are really swimming trunks or something. They are so short and the colors...awesome! What a stud! This one cracked me up so I had to share.

Goodbye Kwana

Well, early Friday morning Kwana left for home. We had our ups and our downs with the situation, but it was a good experience for our family. We learned a lot about ourselves, other people, and a different culture. We look forward to the opportunity to host another student in the future. The night before she left we went with our two families to Brick Oven for dinner. I got a few pictures before my battery died. Then when we got home and I charged my battery we took a few pictures together.

As an example of what the boys got from it, here are a few things they have said.

Aidan (From a letter written to Kwana) : Dear Kwana, I loved having you here. It was a new and fun experience that I will probably never have again. It was interesting eating some Korean food. I hope you have a good flight back to Korea. Good luck!!!

Andrew (From a letter written to Kwana): Dear Kwana, I LOVED Having you here! It was so much fun! It BREAKS my littl heart that you have to leave. =) LOTS of Love, Andrew (Can you tell who the dramatic one in the family is?)

Max - While we were driving in the car yesterday we were talking about one of his friends and I said how the friend has 2 sisters. Max said, "I have 2 sisters too!" I said that he only has one sister and 2 brothers. He said, "No Mom, I have 2 sisters!" I kind of laughed and said, "Who?" He answered, "Kwana and London!"

The Snake!

OK, so I have been swamped with getting everything ready for when Kwana was to return home, summer starting, etc. So I am blogging about things that happened last week. The people at Shane's work caught a snake that was hanging out around them. Since their work is right by the freeway Shane brought it home to show to the boys and to go release in a field. They all wanted to keep it, but since it is wild I didn't want to keep it because of possible diseases. Plus, I am not a fan of feeding snakes small rodents. I much prefer crickets or vegetarian animals. The snake was huge! We even took a video of it in the grass before they released it. Max cried when they let it go. So sad, but not sad enough to keep it! Kwana was a little unsure of the visitor and look how tall it was compared to Shane.

London's 4 Month Check up

Well, London had her 4 month check up yesterday and she is officially 4 months today! Where has the time gone? Here is a super sweet picture of London and her brother Max while they were sleeping by each other. I had already gotten London up for the day and then she was hungry. After eating she fell asleep so I put her next to Max while I got ready in my bathroom. (I promise I don't normally have her sleep with a pillow). Anyway, they looked so cute I just had to take a photo. Anyway, the doctor said she looks great and here are her stats.

Length - 24 inches (20 at birth)
Weight - 12.5 lbs. (4 lbs. 13 oz. at birth)

Not too shabby! He said she is having great growth and because of this he has recommended I wait on solid foods until closer to 6 months. Waaah! I was kind of hoping I could start her on some and get a little more sleep at nights. Oh well, you do what you gotta do.

About 97% of the times that London wakes up for the day or I change her diaper, this is what I get to see! Sooooooo CUTE!

Lovin' the Sister

I was moving the couch to vacuum under it. London and Max were laying on it while I moved it and I just had to get my camera. Both of them were smiling and just loving each other. These pictures don't do it justice, but they'll do. (P.S. They are laying on down so they are sideways and just look at the little chubby thighs that little London is getting...so cute!)
