Zoo and Hike

It rained on Memorial Day. We had planned on going to the zoo for FHE with my family, but because of the rain we went to see Prince Caspian instead. The boys still wanted to go to the zoo so we picked them up from school on Tuesday and went to the zoo. After the zoo we went for a little hike. I stayed at the bottom to take pictures of how high they got. Here are some of our pictures.

Mickey... or is it Mickpee

OK. I promise I don't normally take pictures of pee, but this was too funny. Shane and I were laying with Max the other night to get him to bed. All of the sudden I felt something wet. He is into pulling away his pull-up at night and just peeing. I know, not fun. Anyway, I felt a little wet on the bed so we got up and turned on the light and started to get him out of bed and he points at the bed and says, "Dad, it's Mickey Mouse." Shane and I looked at each other and then the bed and couldn't help but laugh. Max was right, there was Michey Mouse...a Mickey Mouse shaped pee mark on his bed. I'm sorry, but how can I NOT blog about that. Enjoy the photo and see if you can find the hidden Mickey! LOL!!!

Dance Festival Videos

Finally! I got the Dance Festival videos to work. The videos of Andrew are a little better than Aidan because Aidan was in the back. You can catch him every once in a while and on one please excuse how blurry, apparently my camera was not my friend. He is wearing kind of checkered pants and a blue polo. Andrew is in a white polo and greyish shorts with a yellow sash.

Dance Festival

Yesterday was the dance festival for Aidan and Andrew. Max and I went early and had a picnic breakfast and set up our blanket. We were on the first row. It was a nice morning, so we played around until it was time to start. Shane joined us before the performance so we all got to enjoy the dances. Here are some pictures from the event. Andrew did a "tango" and had a spanish theme. Aidan did surfin' songs. I have been trying since yesterday to get my video to work, but still not working! I will try to post the videos by tonight.

Favorite Movie Quotes

We were watching a movie together today and I heard one of my favorite movie quotes again. It reminded me of another as well. Here are two quotes I really like.

I love this quote. For me it was so true. Shane cares about everything concerning me whether it seems terrible, mundane, or wonderful! He is a great husband.

I love this one because Shane is such a good Dad. He loves to spend one-on-one time with all his boys and he loves to talk to them and just be with them. I believe there is a great power that comes from him and the influence he has on all his boys.

Credit Card Offer for Mr. Max

Max really likes to open mail so today I let him open a credit card offer. Here was what he said...

"Mom! It's 13 bucks!"

I kid you not! Where do they get these things?!

Funny Balloon Delivery

So Shane got a call on Saturday from a guy in California. He was a huge Laker fan and his co-workers at an Orem office were huge Jazz fans who had been doing their fair share of smack talking. He ordered 2 deliveries to happen today. I did the first and I will do the second this afternoon. It was hilarious. This is what they had us do:

26 balloons that were purple, yellow, and white for the Lakers. We made sure they were well inflated and filled some with confetti in case they chose to pop any Laker balloons. On the white balloons he had us write different things like "Lakers rock...Jazz", etc. Then we had 10 balloons of Light blue and Dark Blue that we underinflated so they would kind of float limply. We put them on shorter strings as well. Some we just filled with air so they would sit on the ground. Shane revealed he is a Laker fan, so somehow, I ended up having to wear Shane's Kobe jersey to do the delivery!

What I won't do for the business! Anyway, even though I was rooting for the Jazz, this was still super funny!

Weddings, Weddings, Everywhere

So, we had our first bridal shower yesterday. We had a friends and family shower for Carrie at my house. It was a lot of fun. It was a drop in. We all started talking and a drop-in scheduled from 2-4pm, turned into a drop-in chit chat session from 2pm until 6pm! It was really a lot of fun. It was good to see some people I haven't seen in quite some time. This is our kick-off for wedding events. Now we have a friend shower for Julie next week, Julie's wedding on the 24th, a Bachelorette party for Julie I heard is the night before her wedding. A ward shower for Carrie some time in May, Carrie goes through the temple on the 31st, Carrie's wedding on June 7th, and finally after that we will do a friend and family shower for Julie. Crazy!

I Just Called to Say I Love You

So the other night I went to pick out dresses for my 2 sisters' weddings. My sister, Anna, and I went together and she had just called me on my cell phone to tell me she was on her way to get me. I accidentally left my phone at home when we went. I thought Max had decided he missed me and had Shane call me on Anna's phone. I was wrong. He had found my phone and pressed a button that called the last person I had spoken with, which was Anna, whom I was with at the time. Anna answered and Max started talking to her. She asked if he wanted to talk to her or to me. He told her he wanted to talk to me. I got on and this was the conversation:

Me: I Max, how are you?

Max: Good.

Me: (Thinking he was missing me and Shane had called) I will be home soon, I will only be gone for a little while. Have fun with your brothers and Daddy.

Max: OK.

Me: Ok, I will see later.

Max: See you later.

Me: I love you.

Max: I love you too Mom...Bye.

Then he hung up the phone. It was so darn cute. And even more cute when I learned he had called on his own.

A Pirate's Life for Me

I walked in on Max with a book. A page in the book had music on it and he was singing "Yo Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirates Life for me." I couldn't grab my camera fast enough, so I asked him if he wanted to sing his song for the camera and then I would show him. Luckily he said yes. I am really bad at this protect your name stuff and said his name on camera, but I will get better. Enjoy!

Shampoo the Rug

I have heard of needing to shampoo your rugs. Well, today, Max took that literally. He went upstairs to get himself a pull-up and he was up for a little too long. I called for him and then he came down with the bottle of shampoo. He thought he needed it in the bath for later. Luckily most of it ended up on the bathtub. Some got on the bath rug, but thankfully that was the only rug. No carpet was harmed in the making of this bubble bath!

Mother's Day

Aidan and Andrew spend Mother's Day with their Mom of course, so since we had them tonight they, along with Max and Shane took me out to dinner for Mother's Day. It was a lot of fun and we went to my favorite restaurant...Tepanyaki! Mmmmm, Yummy! Here's a pic of all my boys and a picture of all of us at dinner. (Max was asleep).

Cousins

The other night we had Shane's brother's family over. We played games and Max was so cute with his cousins. Here they are all cuddled up.

WII

Well, we did it. We broke down and got video games. I am not really into the idea of kids sitting there all day playing video games. I don't think it is good for them unless it is in moderation. We have always set a limit on computer games and so I was hesitant to get video games as well. Well, we had been looking at the possibility of the WII because not all the games are sit there forever games. At least the kids are moving around and you can get like 4 controllers so we could play together. They are expensive at stores right now because of the demand. Fortunately our neighbor found a deal and had bought some to sell on EBay and they didn't sell. So, we got one for a great price and my Mom got one. They are brand new and we have been loving it. We haven't spent all day playing, which is good, and with some of the games you can even break a sweat! Anyway, it's been a lot of fun and even Max has gotten into it. He like to try boxing and here he is trying to box.

New Room

So I mentioned we were combining Andrew and Max's room. I have them sharing a bed right now only because Max hardly sleeps in his bed and Andrew isn't with us every night. Once I know Max will stay in his room we'll get him his own bed. Here is a picture of the big boy bed now in the new room. Max was so excited to have a new bed that he had to show me how he could sleep in it. He took Dad's blanket and climbed onto the bed and pretended to sleep. Too cute.

Lakers vs Jazz

So Shane was fortunate enough to get play-off tickets for the Laker/Jazz Game #3 on Friday night. Shane's family are all Laker fans. My problem is that I am not a total Lakers fan. I am a fan because my husband is and my favorite player is Derek Fisher, but other than that, I wasn't raised out there, so I tend to be a Jazz fan. Well, Shane took Aidan to the game and they went with Shane's brother Troy and Troy's son. I had heard Troy had gotten his son some Laker's things to wear so I joked with Shane that I was going to cover Aidan in Jazz stuff. Really I'm happy with either team winning. Shane pulled out some of his Lakers stuff for he and Aidan to wear. They had a lot of fun and it was a good game even though the Jazz won. Here are some pictures of them from before the game. While they enjoyed the game I took Max, Andrew, and my little brother to see "Speed Racer". It was interesting...but they loved it. We also went to dinner and then my brother and Andrew had a sleep over. It was a fun night for everyone.

Neglected

So my Blog is feeling neglected. I have been checking everyone else's blogs out, but I have been a slacker myself. We've been trying to do the usual after winter stuff. Weed, spring cleaning, etc. We stained our deck and now we have been going back and doing touch up work and staining in between the boards so you can't see the old stain. The old stain was a solid Navajo red, which wasn't really us and didn't really fit the house either. It was also coming off because it has been a long time since it was stained. To cover it up we also had to go opaque, but we did more of a brown. I will post some before and after pics once I have all the cracks filled in. Next up we will be staining our fort/play house in the backyard. It is due for one as well, so we are going to make it match the deck since it didn't. I've also moved some bedrooms around. Max hardly sleeps in his room. We want to get him his own big boy bed, but not if he isn't going to sleep in it. So, we moved Andrew's bed into Max's room for them to share. We figure if Max sleeps there we will get him his own bed, and if Max doesn't, Andrew will pretty much have his own room. This, of course, leaves Aidan to his own room as well. We would eventually like to remodel the playroom and have that big room be for both Aidan and Andrew as they get older. For now, I think we have it where it will work. I will have to post pictures when I am done with everything. So, long story short...to late...I will do better and posting and I'll get some of these pics up. It may be tonight or tomorrow before I get to it.
