I Love My Brother

Max loves his brothers. He loves them for different reasons and each have a special and different relationship with him. With Andrew being closer in age, Max is constantly wanting to follow him around. This morning after Andrew left for school Max cried and said he missed Andrew. Then, again this afternoon he started to cry again saying how he missed Andrew. He just loves his brothers and loves to be with them every chance he can get.

Dear Automatics...

Dear Automatics,

I heart you! In fact, I love you! I love when I go to a public restroom and I see you in the stall. I love that I don't have to touch an icky handle that someone else has touched. I love when I walk to the sink and put my hands under the faucet and the water miraculously turns on. It is even better when I reach for the soap and a small squirt comes out with no extra effort. When I am done, I love when I go to get a paper towel and you sense that I am there and kindly give me just what I need. If I could have you in my home I would buy you in a heart beat. Then I wouldn't find little boy surprises when I go in my bathrooms. I hope some day to build a house and install you!

P.S. Could you tell all the public places that buy you to also install automatic doors so that when I leave the bathroom I don't have to touch those yucky handles? Hugs!

M Family Reunion '09 - Day 4

On our last day we woke up and cleaned out all our stuff. We then went to the park across from the Idaho Falls Temple so we could see the falls and take some pictures. Max loved all the geese and ducks, and let me tell you, there were a ton!

Then we headed to sacrament meeting at the church next to the Idaho Falls Temple. In Sacrament Meeting a woman gave a talk. In her talk she spoke on how her and her brother used to milk cows. She told a story and let's just say, I never thought I would hear the word tit used in Sacrament Meeting. Now I have. We went to walk around the temple. My parents were married in this temple.

After the temple we had lunch at my Uncle's house and headed out for Logan. In Logan we stopped at my Aunt's house to visit with my Grandma. She is 94 and 1/2 years old. It was really great to see her and fun to ride some horses and the zipline.

M Family Reunion Places

These are some of the places in my parent's history.

After my parents were married my Grandpa built a log house on some land behind their existing home. They sold the other house and my first memories of my grandparents are of this home. They would irrigate in the backyard and we would swim back there. It was beautifully built.

This canal runs right by my other grandparent's home. We used to tub down it in the summers.

When my parents got engaged my Dad lived in the little house on the left. He lived in the attic, but moved to the basement so my Mom could live in the attic during the flood clean up. My Uncle and Aunt lived on the main level. My Dad proposed in the attic.

My parents live in the apartment of this home right after they got married.

The home where my Dad's family was living while my parents were dating. My Mom met the family here and was shocked that they ate rabbit for dinner.

This box car was next to a home where my Dad's family lived. They would store grain in it. Not all of us are here because some of the babies were asleep in the car. In this house all 11 of the children in my Dad's family lived at one time before the eldest was married.

This is the home of my Dad's grandparents. He has fond memories of coming here.

The house where my Mom's parents lived when her Dad and Step-mom married. My parents had their reception in the orchard behind and then my grandpa built the log house behind.

M Family Reunion '09 - Day 3

On the third day we headed out in the morning to check out some places where my parents lived while they were growing up. We then stopped over at the Teton Dam. My parents got engaged during the Teton Dam Flood of 1976. After the Dam we headed over to Big Jud's and had some yummy food. After Big Jud's we headed over to Rexburg to walk around the temple and check out the places my parents lived while in college and right after they got married. After Rexburg we went to the movie, "Where the Wild Things Are." I must say, I was disappointed. I missed the memo that this movie was for adult and not kids. It was slow moving and just to artsy for kids. I also didn't like that some major things in the book were ignored and they took liberties with the storyline (as minimal as it is). We then went home, bathed the kids for church the next day and went to bed.
