June 2010 Happenings

I did manage to blog some of June's happenings, but not all of them. Here is some more.

Entrepreneurs. They grabbed whatever they could find to sell and setup on the corner.


Max got his soccer gear and had to try it out in the yard.

Then he went to soccer camp to work with it for real.


London loved that the heat meant we could visit Sonic during Happy Hour.

We checked out the new kid store, Blinkenstaffs and it was a big hit with the kids.

We went to the park.

We did yard work, which meant spraying our very tall cherry tree.

Scout Camp

Shane and Andrew got to go to Capital Reef for Scout Camp.

May 2010 Happenings

Since I have been such a blog slacker this summer, I think I just need to play catch-up with a lot of pictures. I will describe what I can, but just enjoy some of the fun things we did. I noticed I had missed a couple things from May. Partially because this was still when I was waiting for my new camera, so I had to get them off my phone and Shane's phone. So here is some of the stuff missing from May, in no particular order.

London loves certain foods. She was really in love with whatever we had here.


London also likes to explore.


And she gets bigger everyday! Here she is with us for a balloon job. The balloons were quite large.


She is also a girly girl. She loves shoes and to wear pretty things. She also loved this little purse.

She wore herself out and I found her like this at Grandma's house.

Max a little exposed. He will kill me later for this, but he had a small accident while playing at my cousin's house. He still wanted to stay. We changed his undies, but didn't have extra pants. He didn't care. The trampoline was so inviting.

London had to be just like her brother.

We were watching a show and Max disappeared. We assumed he went to the bathroom. We walked upstairs to find this. He had decided he wanted some ice cream. So, he had gotten out the ice cream as well as 4 bowls and was getting enough for everyone. What a cutie!

The boys all got to go to the Father's and Sons at Heber Valley Camp.

I took Max, London and Max's friend "E" to the Farm at Thanksgiving Point. London loves to look at horses, but she didn't love riding them.

Andrew participated in his 4th grade program.

One of these days I will get on here and actually tell you what we have been up to! I will make a goal to do it by Sunday. Anyway, I just took London in for her 18 month appt. and also took Max in for his 5 year old/kindergarten appointment. Here are their stats:

London
32" tall - 50%
20.2 lbs - 25%
46 cm head circumference - 30%

Max
43" tall - 60%
36 lbs - 30%
He also has great blood pressure and vision and is ready for kindergarten! The doctor was so nice and gave him lots of presents.

The only not so fun part was leaving with 2 kids crying from the shots!

Happy Birthday Max

Guess who is 5 years old today? I will write more about my awesome little guy when I get back from my Grandma's funeral. Look at this stud, ready for T-Ball.

Goodbye, Grandma

I just got the call I have been expecting. My sweet Grandma Mortimer just passed away. We saw her at our recent reunion and knew she didn't have long. She was 95 and has lived a long, healthy life. It was her time to go, but it doesn't make it easy. It has been 8 months (to the day tomorrow) since we lost my other Grandmother. I didn't expect them to go in the same year. We talked about death when she passed, so when I learned about my Grandma Mortimer I simply told Max that my Grandma had died. He was so sweet and leaned over and hugged me for a little bit. What a sweetheart!

She was so sweet and kind spirited. She always was on the move and I was constantly amazed at what she was able to do. Back in 1997 we went on a road trip to Nauvoo. We brought my Grandma along and she kept up with the best of us. She was an avid gardener and I loved her fresh raspberries and swiss chard. When we had a sore throat she would often make this special drink with honey and vinegar. I loved it and it said Grandma to me. I still make it occasionally when I have a sore throat. She loved the Lord and let her family know it. I am so blessed to have had a Grandmother like her. (The picture above is of her in October 2009, when she was 94).

I quickly need to add that she has 11 children, 79 grandchildren and over 170 great-grandchildren, two of which were born just this week. What a legacy!
