My Resolution(s)

Every year Shane and I come up with Mottos for the new year. We each have our own and it encompasses the goals we have set for the year. My motto is "Be Great in 2008". The areas I want to be great in are the following:

1. SPIRITUAL
Read the Book of Mormon in 2008.
2. SELF-IMAGE
Lose weight - I am hoping for 20 pounds unless I can get pregnant prior to that.
3. FAMILY
Do my part to get me home - Including budgeting, etc.

I wrote down steps to acheive my goals and hopefully I will accomplish them all so I can be great!

I'm so sleepy!

Well, I've never done the mad rush to the stores on the Friday after Thanksgiving. This year I happened to find some things I really wanted. So, Carrie and Sarah and I all decided we would be brave and go for it. We woke up and we were at Kohls at 4:05am. It is a good thing we weren't later than 5min. from doors opening. One of the things Carrie and I both wanted we grabbed leaving only 3 remaining. As we walked to the back of the store everyone in line had it. CRAZY! I got everything I wanted to and I have to admit...it was a rush! It was like a game, hurry to see if you get it and if you do, YOU ARE COOL! I even got the last transformer! It was actually a bad guy, but, STILL COOL! Anyway, 'tis the season!

I have been tagged by Kristine. The rules...player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves at the end of the post, player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blog and leaves a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog for the rules!

I am finally doing this...miracle!

1. I am freaky afraid of heights! I cried at the Grand Canyon, and yet, somehow, I wouldn't mind sky diving some day!

2. I love to cook. I love to try new recipes and I would love to be an awesome baker.

3. For some reason boogers really gross me out! I can handle helping Max, but if I see other people having booger issues my gag reflex kicks in.

4. When I got married I married 3 boys, but I am not a polygamist! I married Shane who brought his sons Aidan and Andrew with him.

5. When I was younger I wanted to be a teacher or an actress. I loved the show Little House on the Prairie and would often act things out as if I were on the show. My friends and I would sometimes play it on the way home from school.

6. I used to not have a problem with nuts, but I guess old age does something to change your resistence and now whenever I have walnuts or pecans I get a really bad cold sore that hurts extremely bad, so I opt to not have those.

I think pretty much everyone has been tagged, so I will just read through theirs and I won't tag anyone.

Spiderman

So I did my first cake decorating attempt last night. I made a cake for Andrew. We celebrated his birthday on his real birthday, but with my family we did a birthday dinner tonight. For those seasoned decorators please don't laugh at my bad technique! It was my first try...but I must say...I am extremely proud!

My Baby is Big

I gave Max a needed hair cut and all of the sudden he looks so big. We put him in a suit (Thank you Dan and McKell) and he looks even bigger! We decided to measure him and he is 35 inches! In Disneyland terms he can now ride the Matterhorn!

Halloween

We had a great Halloween! Shane was Edward Scissorhands, Suzy was Sally from "The Nightmare Before Christmas", and Max was a Football player (And of course his uniform was Blue and White). Suzy even won the costume contest at work!

Me & My Shadow

So, for the past month or so Max will run into the living room and turn right around, bolt into the kitchen and sream. He then cries out of terror. It was really freaking us out. It was almost as if he was going in there and seeing a bad person or an evil spirit or something. On Friday night Shane took Max and "J" to Sizzler and they were sitting at dinner. "M" suddenly began to freak out in the same manner. Shane was trying to figure out what was wrong, and every time he moved Max pointed at Shane's shadow and would freak out. So, we have solved the mystery! Max has run into the living room and has freaked out upon his encounter with...his SHADOW!!!!

BYU Football Season

Max is really into sports, especially football. He loves BYU. If he hears a commerical mention Cosmo he goes running to the TV (he just did). He knows a lot of the ref calls too. I try to get him to sing his ABCs, which he knows, but he won't. What song will he sing? Oh yes, the Cougar Fight Song! Whose child is this? He will sit through entire games no problem (except the last 5 minutes of the last game because of all the snow). He just loves it. Any guess on what he is going to be for Halloween?

Wintertime

Didn't I just write a post about how excited I was about having Autumn in my back yard? So then why is winter all of the sudden in my back yard as well? Max sure loved it though, and he immediately knew what he wanted to do with the snow!

to always be carrying a car somewhere. He loves this one because it talks. He imitates it..."speed, I am speed!"

Autumn

We are loving Autumn at our house this year. We haven't ever really had trees, so to have them changing in our backyard is very fun!

Signing Time

So McKell told us that Channel 9 has "Signing Time" on Mondays and Fridays. I decided I want to record it and watch it with Max. I have to admit I was more into it than Max, but he isn't much of a TV buff. He loves the music so hopefully he will get into it the more we watch it. I love the idea that he can learn to sign and I can too. They do words and songs and counting and the alphabet it is awesome. I'll keep you posted on how good he does...and how good I do...I'll bet he retains more of it than I will.

My Impending Birthday

So I have decided that I don't know what it is, but 29 is scarier to me than 30. I mean when I am 30 I will be in my 30's, but starting in the early part of it. Being 29 puts me at the end of something. I can say I'm in my 20's, but really, I'm just hanging onto the tail end of it. It is like everyone says how old are you and you say 29 and they look like you are at the last year of the golden years. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it is old, it is just a cross-road. It is kind of throwing me for a loop because I swear I was 16 yesterday! Maybe that is what it is...I don't feel like someone who is almost 30. When I see people on TV I think, oh she has to be like 10 years older than me, then I hear that she is 30 and I wonder, do I look 30? Am I really 30? Where do all the years go and why haven't I done some of the things I wanted to. Perhaps I have a lot of traveling to do in the next year so I can say I did it before I was 30. Oh well, I guess I should have known I was old when I told a Young Woman in my ward that I had met Tony Danza and she said, "...Who?"

Dancing with the Stars

We have really been into Dancing with the Stars. We are there to support Marie Osmond and I personally love some of the other people as well. Max was so cute last night. Whenever someone would start dancing he wanted to dance too...but not alone. He says, "Dad!" Then Shane said, ok dance. Max says, "Dad, come on!" He was pulling on Shane trying to get him up and wouldn't start dancing without him. Every dance almost this was the story. He just wanted a partner to dance with. It was soooo cute! Can you just see the future

Kristine didn't know that we do more than balloons. I'm a dork for not filling everyone in. We can pretty much get any party supply you need.
